Pentax ME Super

Posted by
Hoshisato (Dippach, Luxembourg) on 8 August 2016 in Miscellaneous.

Picked up a “new” camera with lens for a song, always wanted one of these. The camera is almost like new, the previous owner must have barely used it. Lucky!!

I bought a Pentax ME when it first came out with an SMC Pentax 50mm f/1.7 M lens but that camera is permanently operating in Av Priority mode without the possibility to lock the exposure, a Pentax ME Super can also be used in Manual mode and combines the functionality of the Pentax ME and the Pentax MX. The camera came with the slightly more modern A version of this lens; these Pentax prime lenses are especially good, my last trip to Japan I used these on my modern Pentax MZ-S SLR for street photography and I loved the sharpness and contrast. Decided to use Pentax prime lenses on all my Pentax cameras from then on!

You are shooting digital now, but deep down, maybe even unbeknown to you, you want to try film and find out why so many happy people are still using it. If so, once you are ready to take the next step to being a happy photographer, visit my page dedicated to film photography here.

My very first "real" 35 mm camera was a Pentax H-1a, and a few years later I upgraded to a Pentax Spotmatic. Those were back in the old days of film, so I just dated myself. ;-) I still have both, and they still work just fine, but I mostly sold out to all the bells and whistles of digital. I glad to see there are still people like you that are still dedicated to film photography!
