Mount FujiPosted by Hoshisato (Ealing, United Kingdom) on 8 November 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. If you are familiar with Hakone, you might have wondered if we actually got the see the most famous views from Hakone, the views of imposing Mount Fuji. Autumn is not the best time to see Fuji-san, but all in all we got lucky and got to see Fuji-san from several locations. However, we never got the view of Fuji-san over Lake Ashi, the most famous view of the volcano. A couple of days after we had left Hakone, one of the typhoons that had created so much havoc in the Philippines this October passed and the subsequent day had the clearest views of the year of Fuji-san which even sported a fresh coat of snow all of a sudden. Such is life :-) If you are a professional photographer, you can wait for it as the sky usually gets very clear after the passing of a typhoon, but we had to get back to the UK by that time.
