The Notting Hill Carnival #1 -- snow angel

Posted by Hoshisato (Ealing, United Kingdom) on 3 September 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

The Late Summer Bank Holiday in the UK is the traditional Notting Hill Carnival weekend.

During occasions like this I learned to bring my 70-200mm lens to take close-ups and use a small depth of field to blur out the usually very crowded background; too often I have been disappointed by the wider angle shots in situations like this, as, for me, they never had any clear subject and it was very difficult to isolate a scene even with an f/2.8 lens. However, most photographers on the day were using their 18-50mm lenses, what is your experience?
