Nara Park #2 -- tea house

Posted by Hoshisato (Ealing, United Kingdom) on 24 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Nara Park, and in particular the area around Kasuga-taisha, is one of the most beautiful locations in Japan. Of course this is based on my personal experience and only on a single visit, but that gloomy December day the park was so incredibly peaceful and harmonious, that I enjoyed Nara many times better than Kyoto. Sacrilege! Kyoto of course has many more important sites but unfortunately spread out higgledy-piggledy throughout the town whereas Nara with the beautiful shrines and temples in a beautiful park in full autumn colours has a much higher impact
