Taishoike pond in the fog, Kamikochi, JapanPosted by Hoshisato (Ealing, United Kingdom) on 25 May 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. A nearby volcanic eruption in 1915 created Taishoike pond which left several decaying trees standing in the middle of the pond. The story of this photo is that typhoon #9 had just passed the area when we arrived. For some reason, I woke up at 5AM the next morning which is just before dawn at that time of the year in that part of Japan to find the most amazing view from the window. Camera: Pentax MZ-3, lens: Sigma 28-300mm - 1:3.5-6.3 + ILFORD FP4+ Thanks for all your comments while I was away, please keep them coming.
