Entering the Year of the Rat

Very pretty girl in the Chinese New Year Parade in central London this year.
After previous disappointments with wide angled lenses at similar events, I had only taken my 70-200mm F/2.8 lens and this worked out very well by keeping the depth of field as tiny as possible and isolating the subject from the cluttered background. The later versions of the Pentax *ist DS firmware do include the continuous autofocus setting (AFC) which works wonders for an event like this.

Thanks for all your comments, please keep them coming. You will do me a great favour by visiting my black and white gallery or blog. For my trip reports, please visit my Travel Blog page.
